LAS VEGAS — It may be a month away, but the NFL season is already on the horizon.
That’s because the league announced Tuesday it will hold its first game in the newly renovated arena that opened to the public this week.
The Los Angeles Rams are expected to play a preseason game on Nov. 23 at Qualcomm Stadium, which opened Nov. 17.
The team’s first preseason game in Los Angeles will be against the Houston Texans on Aug. 2.
The league has a history of building new stadiums and opening them for preseason games.
Last year, the Rams opened the new Staples Center in time for the season opener of the Arizona Cardinals.
The Rams, who have already announced they are in the process of moving to Los Angeles, will be the team playing the first preseason match in Los Vegas.
The Chargers have a new stadium in Inglewood, California, just north of downtown L.A.
