A source close to the transfer talks between Roma and Lazio has confirmed that the Serie A side will sign former Lazio player Mario Tamais.
The 28-year-old, who joined Roma in 2012, scored six goals in 27 Serie A appearances for the Torino-based club.
The Italy international joined Lazio for a reported €12m, and the former Juventus man is a former teammate of former Lazios coach Gianluigi Buffon, who is currently the club’s head coach.
According to the source, Roma have agreed to pay Lazio a fee in the region of €15m, but will not pay more than that as they will need to cover a significant amount of player fees to get the deal done.
Lazio have been keen to add to their attacking options in recent weeks, and are hoping to sign Napoli striker Paulo Dybala, but the Lazio boss, Domenico Berardi, has made it clear that he will not be selling players.
A source close the transfer negotiations between Roma, Lazio and Tommiasini told Sky Sport Italia that Roma have already signed midfielder Andrea Mancini, as well as midfielder Luca Guercilena.
